I'm Gonna Thank You Lord

At 1am after waking up with Addy for the 5th night in a row; feeling frustrated and unsure what to do or if I am doing something wrong...I remembered these awesome lyrics by Scotty Mccreery and also a wonderful quote I woke up to this morning. As I said to my cousin, Emily this morning....God is faithful to get us through these times and hearing Addy's crying means she is "ALIVE"!!! I am going to thank you Lord for those nights that never seem to end and the numerous crys out for "mama" because it means we live!

As my husband reminded me last night; we are so blessed to have the girl we do!  This song reminds me so much of how I feel; I am so blessed to have the amazing husband that I do that works so hard for us each day and comes home exhausted each night. I can't say enough of how much I love my husband for what he does for us each day.

"Dirty Dishes"
Mama hollers "Supper time,
And don't make me tell you twice
Wash your hands and wipe your face.

The table's no place for your toys,

And try to use your inside voice,

Don't dig in 'til we say Grace."

So we put down our forks and bowed our heads

And then she prayed the strangest prayer ever said:

"I wanna thank You Lord,

For noisy children and slamming doors,

And clothes scattered all over the floor,

A husband workin' all the time,

Draggin' in dead tired at night,

My never ending messy kitchen

And dirty dishes."

We all got real still and quiet,

And daddy asked "Honey, you alright?"
She said, "There ain't nothing wrong,

Noisy kids are happy kids,

And slamming doors just means we live,

In a warm and loving home,

Your long hours and those dishes in the sink,

Means a job and enough to eat.

So I'm gonna thank You Lord,
For noisy children and slamming doors,
And clothes scattered all over the floor,
A husband workin' all the time,
Draggin' in dead tired at night,

My never ending messy kitchen

For my little busy bees
Beggin' mama, mama can you please?

Always wantin' me and callin' me

Loads of laundry pilin' up

Crayons crushed into the rug

In those little sticky kisses

And dirty dishes,

And dirty dishes..."

"We were made to enjoy life and our Creator, and we were meant to choose to live in His beauty and provision.

"When I choose to notice, every day, the beauty of my children instead of the duties my children bring my way, I am worshipping God."
