Merry CHRISTmas

I have been going through my head of what to write for a Christmas blog this year but it all boiled down to one thing....I am here today because of a King....A king that came as a baby boy and is now my savior. The song below by Casting Crowns spoke volumes to me about just what Christ did on that day many years ago. Our nation is broken and we need a Savior. All we have to do is ask.

This Christmas may you come to know the King....without him we are nothing.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17

"While You Were Sleeping"
Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night

Time to Eat

I find that meal time is one of the hardest times of the day... After a full day with a little girl who rarely naps my energy level is just spent by then. I try to last minute figure out something to make or call the hubby and about a Pizza?  As we all know, out to eat is not necessarily great on the pocket book.

After a great speaker from MOPS came and spoke with us about organization around the house and how to make things more peaceful I decided to start menu planning as my first project. Last week was my first week of actually having a calendar on my frig and on Sunday I planned each meal and what it would be for the week. EXCITING, I know...well maybe I am just excited. We didn't go out to eat once and we tried some new things...

Then, Ben challenged me last week to find 30 different dinner items/ideas so that I have 30 different types of meals for the month! So if you have some great recipes to share or have any other ideas...Let me know!

My goal is to make things a little more easy going so when dinner time comes we can enjoy each other plus what OCD (obsessive compulsive) person doesn't love organization?!

So tonight for dinner it is Chow Mein Hot Dish-recipe from my mom!

(Have to add a cute photo---nothing to do with food)

Fun with Grandma

My mom has been watching Addy for me two Mondays a month so that I can attend MOPS and I am so grateful to have that time and Addy loves spending time with her grandma. We also took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch today with grandma and over the weekend went to MOA. However, I am pretty sure I love just as much being able to be with my mom and daughter at the same time. We had lunch with my Grandma Anita today too. What a blessing; 4 generations together....
