Fathers have a special role
In each young child’s life
To mould and shape them to become
A follower of Christ
To show them the Father’s heart
And help them understand
How God’s love can be their guide
As they take Him by the hand.
Fathers have an awesome task
To show what love is made of
So when their children look at them
They’ll see the heart of God
And grow to want to know God more
To walk in all His ways
To learn from their Father’s wisdom
And be taught how to pray.

In this past year I have seen Ben grow into a different type of a man; a father, a dad. I have been waiting for the day where he had a child at hand and to see his smiling face when she entered into this world.
Ben is such an amazing father spending each waking moment with her. His love for Addy is so amazing and the way he holds her so tight and kisses her shows his unconditional love for her.The Lord has truly blessed Addy with an amazing dad that she can learn from.
On this day, we honor you Ben as the amazing Dada that you are. May the Lord bless you with many more years as a husband and dad!
Proverbs 20:7 The righteous man walks in his integrity;
His children are blessed after him.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

The Love of My life
It has been 6 years ago today I was married to the most wonderful man in the world. I can't believe how time flies. That was the most wonderful day of my life (with a close second with the birth of our daughter). I know I am biased but it was the most beautiful wedding a girl could ask for.
This summer in August also marks 12 years of being together (dating plus marriage). We went on our first date to the St. Paul Saints game and then to Denny's in 1999 right before our senior year started. And most of you may be shocked by the next statement: I asked him out on the first date! That day started the rest of our lives. High School Sweethearts...
Ben has been such a wonderful blessing in my life. With my type A personality, I needed someone to be my stronghold and to keep me calm and relaxed and he truly does. Ben has changed my life in so many wonderful ways. One thing I have always loved about Ben is how he protects and puts his family first. He is a man of character and love. He stands up for what he believes and doesn't back down. He loves the Lord with all his heart and shows it in his daily actions.
Ben is a WONDERFUL father...I knew one day he would be such a great dad because he was raised by wonderful parents and had a great example of what a dad should be like. I love each day as he watches his little girl grow and how each moment he loves spending with her. He is getting so excited for the day she can watch a Disney movie with him!
Ben means more to me than anything in this world. He is my love, my protector, my calm before a storm, my best friend, my husband, my child's dad, smart, VERY GOOD LOOKING, soft heart, gentle spirit, great decision maker and FOREVER mine.
On this day Ben, I thank the Lord that he has blessed me with a faithful, amazing, God fearing husband. You are a treasure. I thank God, each time I think of you. Philippians 1:3

Addy Update
We had our 15 month check up yesterday and all went well. Healthy little girl...the doctor said she seems to really be growing quite a bit.
She is 28 pounds, 30 3/4 inches.
Its amazing to me how many new things Addy does. She is truly a blessing in our lives.
*Starting to eat with a spoon by herself.
*Runs instead of walking
*Can say juice, cracker, up, dog, mom and dad.
*Gives kisses a lot! (we will take those anytime)
*Loves to build and play with blocks
*Is starting to really understand what Ben and I say...if we tell her its bath time, she starts to climb up stairs and goes right into the bathroom...
*She loves to play in the kitchen with all of the cans and spices
*Loves picking up her daddy's shoes and walking around with them
*She loves to laugh and chase the dogs around

"Mom, Ive Conquered the Grass"
So, I don't feel its as fun to write too much as it is to share fun pictures of Addy. So for awhile you might just see short writings of Addy's fun adventures.
I've made note in previous posts that Addy has been SUPER scared of the grass. She won't walk in it or even touch it. However, after playing in the pool and going through the sprinkler in the grass she has become somewhat in love with the grass. So fun to see her conquer her fear at such a young age. Love my little girl.

Adventure
Well, today we took a trip to the Children's Museum. We met up with Molly and her boys and Amanda and her kiddos. It was a wonderful first experience. Addy played all over the place and the best part about the museum is that really an age can be apart. This place is just amazing...I think total, it had 5 floors of fun.
After we went to the museum Molly, her boys, Addy and I went and head a picnic in the sky way which was fun! Downtown St. Paul is so beautiful and was so fun to experience with Addy for the first time.

Dedication
We had the honor on May 29th to have Addison dedicated to the Lord at our church. What an honor it is to be her parents and such a great day it will be when she comes to know Christ as her personal savior. It was such a blessing to have her grandparents stand up with us in the commitment to help encourage us in the raising of our daughter. We also had the uncles, aunts, cousins, and great grandparents there too. We had a fun day of celebration and Ben's dad treated us all to Old Country Buffet after. What a great time of fellowship.
The day was also special because it was Cathie's (Ben's mom) Birthday!!! We celebrated later that evening with Jet's Pizza and had some of the best pizza ever...It was an all meat pizza that David (our bro-in-law) suggested... Ham, bacon and pepperoni!! NUMMY!!!
This day was also Ellie's 11 month birthday!! Yeah.. our sweet niece has grown and we are looking forward to celebrating her first birthday this month!!
Some wonderful verses that come to mind about children are listed below with some great pictures...
Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him.
Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
"Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise-
"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
