This past week Ben and I received the opportunity to go to New York as a result of Ben being one of the top bankers in the country! So due to Ben's hard work we had an all expenses paid trip to New York.
Of course it was difficult to leave our little girl but she was well taken care of by Grandma Dana and Grandpa Ron. We enjoyed some much needed alone time and enjoyed the city.
The city where the pedestrians have the right of way no matter what and the stop lights don't matter. We learned to be New Yorkers for 4 days! We did a tour of New York, visiting many places; Times Square, FOX News, Statue of Liberty, Strawberry Fields, Trump Tower---where we got to see Donald Trump Jr and Paul Teutul from Celebrity Apprentice, the 9/11 Memorial, 5th Avenue, Brooklyn Bridge, Soho, Bronx, Empire State building, Rockefeller Center, and much more. The last evening was spent at Ben's awards banquet where he received the Star of Excellence! Way to go hubby; your hard work paid off. This was a trip of a lifetime.
Some have asked what my favorite part of the trip was; it was for sure spending time with my hubby but the 2nd favorite was visiting the 9/11 memorial...was one of the post powerful and utterly amazing sites...you can't help but be brought to tears as you walk by each name/person that was sacraficed on that day. Ben and I especially found it interesting that even "unborn children" were named next to the mother. This is something I will never forget.
Enjoy all the pictures!
AWESOME pictures, Katie! The
ReplyDelete9-ll memorial looks breath-taking! I saw a show on the making of it and that was pretty cool. I'm glad you were able to experience that! And way to go Ben on your achievements!
